Restaurant Reviews Los Angeles for Fornaio Beverly-Hills by Foodie and Chef Natacha Mannhart

Il Fornaio cooking school was started in Italy in 1972, and then they bought a local neighborhood bakery to save it. Their bakery concept was imported to the US by Williams-Sonoma, who later sold it to a group of investors. Eventually, the new owners created a restaurant-bakery chain concept with numerous locations.

My favorite dish is “Pizza Christina” with truffle oil, and I also like the spinach salad, the lasagna, calzone pizza and lobster ravioli. They have a beautiful selection of Italian wine, which received the Award of Excellence by the Wine Spectator in 2011. Il Fornaio has a catering service, as well as a take away menu.

In addition to serving dinner, this place is open for breakfast and lunch, because it’s also a bakery. It’s always busy, attracting both locals and tourists. Being conveniently located in the center of Beverly Hills helps a lot :)

I walked by Il Fornio several times but somehow never picked it for lunch. It's interesting to find out a little bit of history so next time I'm in Beverly Hills I'll try it out.
